A Bunny for My Little Bunny: Pattern Testing the Twine Tree Bunny Appliqué


There is something special about being part of the creative process before a pattern is released into the world. Pattern testing offers a glimpse behind the scenes—where ideas, fabric, and imagination come together to become something tangible. Recently, I had the joy of pattern testing the new Bunny Appliqué Pattern by Twine Tree, and it could not have been a more perfect match for my little bunny-loving girl, Kailey.


As soon as I saw the design, I knew exactly what I wanted to make: a “twirly skirt”—a name proudly given by Kailey herself. There is something magical about a skirt that spins just right, and adding the bunny appliqué to it made the piece feel extra special. The sweet bunny detail sat beautifully on the skirt and instantly transformed it into a playful, handmade piece that suits Kailey’s personality perfectly.

Watching her try it on was one of those small motherhood moments that makes sewing feel so worthwhile. She twirled, laughed, and declared it her “bunny skirt.” Safe to say, it has already become a favourite.

One of the things I love most about this appliqué pattern is its versatility. The bunny design works beautifully across so many projects—skirts, dresses, overalls, shirts, bags, or even quilts. It is also wonderfully gender neutral, making it a great addition to handmade wardrobes for all little ones.

A Dress Worth Every Stitch
